You are required to submit 2000-word individual coursework that will “critically evaluate the emergence of “Virtual Organisations” and how the concept of virtual management is practised within an organisation of your choice.

TASK 1: Group Task (50%) 

Select an academic paper of your choice, which is broadly relevant to the academic discipline of strategic management. Such papers may be easily obtained from business or management journals which could  also be available via the UWTSD Library

The presentation, which should be centred around a collectively chosen paper and produced précis,  should last for circa 20 minutes (with each student aiming to present for 5 minutes). It will be based on a combination of content assessment and a reflection of their chosen method of delivery. Please note that students must attend all the presentation sessions, regardless of whether their group is set to present as this will also be factored into the marking criteria. 

TASK 2: Individual Assignment (50%) 

You are required to submit 2000-word individual coursework that will “critically evaluate the emergence of “Virtual Organisations” and how the concept of virtual management is practised within an organisation of your choice. Your evaluation should not be focussing in explaining what virtual organisation (VO) is all about – instead you are required to discuss the challenges and opportunities of such arrangement (i.e. virtual management) in planning, designing, and leading organisations in an increasingly competitive global business environment.  

You are also required to append your presentation slides, the précis of the selected paper (500 words), and the summary of the chosen paper (1,000 words) to your assignment submissio
