The interviewee may be a family member, but not the student themselves! If you choose to interview a patient, do not violate any HIPAA policies or collect any protected health information (PHI). And if you choose to interview someone under 18, parents must be present during the interview and questions may be reworded as needed to be age appropriate for the child or parent.
