Evaluation of Student 1: Hildegard

Hildegard succeeded in presenting most of the key aspects outlined in the rubric, creating a clear and informative presentation on Peplau’s theory of man-woman relationships. As for the content of the presentation, the title slide was satisfactory and the introduction provided a subject overview (2 points). The introduction was comprehensive before approaching the theorist whereas a few biographical aspects about the theorist and the way the theorist influenced the field of nursing were reviewed (3 points). The personal interest and how Peplau’s theory aligned with their professional goals was evident, which showed personal interest and understanding of the highlighted content (3 points). Explain each of the phases and the roles of Peplau’s nursing. The phases and the roles of the nurses according to Peplau were described in detail, thus demonstrating a good understanding of the framework (4 points). Kirkpatrick’s evaluation of the content: Peplau’s theory was discussed its relevance to nursing and healthcare was brought out clearly, and the possible relationship between the theory and the practice was well established (4 marks). The title slide was reasonable enough, while the introduction section established what the proposal was about (2 points). This paper is to provide an interesting and informative review of Nola J. Pender’s Health Promotion Model (HPM), and I wish to thank Sharon Zipporah Champion for a well-written account.
